i have doubt ..suppose throughput becomes linear even after increasing the hits/sec....i thought its not one constant reason happening for above phenomenon(in my experience i have seen that kind of issue faced of database issue..i dont know depth reason)...please share ur thought on the same
 
based on your inputs, i assume that the hits are reaching the server, but the server is unable to send any information, which makes me think that there could be some memory leaks happening..
 
ok ty for ur update....pls ensure its not specific to one reason always right
